When did the Chinese start drink teas? To be exact, it originated from the Han dynasty (206BC to 220AD). All the tea cultures in the world today, come from China. In the early days, tea was introduced to Japan from China. And in the 16th century, tea was introduced to Europe by the Portuguese. Even before the Tang dynasty, there had been literature published by "Lu Yu" related to tea appreciation. "Lu Yu" was given a name as the "Saint of Tea". Chinese teas, defined by the production process, can be categorized into 6 categories:

• Green Tea
• Red Tea
• Gray Tea (now this could be misleading as the Chinese classification simply means Green in English due to lack of words in English)
• Black Tea
• White Tea
• Yellow Tea

There are a large number of teas all over China, it is somehow less significant to know all of them except the Top Ten Teas, specific to the place where they are produced:

• XiHu LongJing
• DongTing BiLuoChun
• HuangShan MaoFeng
• LuShan YunWu
• LiuAn GuaPian
• JunShan YinZhen
• XinYang MaoJian
• WuYi YanCha
• AnXi TieGuanYin
• QiMen HongCha

As you can see, each of them contains two words in alphabet, where the first word is the name of the place and the second word is the name of the tea. XiHu LongJing means the LongJing produced at XiHu. Tea appreciation, I must say, is a hobby I love.
